Excavations carried out in the area unearthed a kouros located at the Museum of Istanbul and numerous inscriptions attest to the continued worship in the sanctuary until the Late Roman period. On column bases inscriptions have been found who wish to be seaworthy vessels coming to the island to load marble quarries and then departed from Aliki. This excavation finding suggests that the temple was dedicated to the Dioscuri, that Castor and Pollux who were the protectors of sailors. Also on the steps of the north building found engraved names of visitors, their lovers and their loved ones.
